Brief Bio
Born in 1953, Dr. El-Ashmawy holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting in 1975. He furthered his education with a degree in Computer Studies from the American University in Cairo in 1980 and completed a specialized program in Banking Credit at Chase Manhattan Bank in 1986.

Early Career:
• Commenced his banking career at Cairo Bank in March 1977 as a Credit Analyst.
• Joined Chase National Bank (now CIB) in March 1978.
• Appointed Managing Director of CIB in March 1997.
• Elected as a Board Member and Deputy Chairman of Commercial International Bank in September 2002.
• Appointed Senior Vice Chairman and Managing Director from 2003 to June 2006.
